Missouri History Today September 2, 1945: USS Missouri Marks Historic Japanese Surrender

Japan surrendered to end World War II in the Pacific Theater on this date. It happened aboard the USS Missouri. More than 450,000 Missourians served globally in the conflict, according to the Missouri Secretary of State.
