The Admiral riverboat opens again on the Mississippi River. The popular attraction along the St. Louis riverfront arrived in 1940 and stopped cruising in the late 1970s when it was grounded by the Coast Guard for structural weakness. The Six Flags corporation was a driving force behind the 1987 reopening, but the ship’s second life was brief. The old boat opened one more time as the President Casino in 1994 and lasted until 2010, when it was closed for good.
