The home built by some early northern Missouri settlers was on the verge of destruction when Ellen Dolan and a team of concerned community volunteers stepped in to save it. Take a look at some of these awe-inspiring before-and-after photos.

Ellen Dolan and her husband, Gary, along with a team of dedicated volunteers and a talented team of craftsmen set out to restore the crumbling Thompson House. The house, located at the rear of Crowder State Park at Trenton, was nothing but an empty, roofless shell when work began.
