Missouri History Today November 23, 1871: Missouri S&T University: From Mines to Modern Education

The Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy opens its doors in Rolla, inviting students pursuing careers in engineering, science, and more. The institution, now known as Missouri S&T University, has twice changed its name, once in 1964 and again in 2008.
